Bloor West Village
Overview
Bloor West Village was mainly developed in the early 1900s. It’s first residents were predominantly immigrants from eastern Europe. The proximity to High Park, the availability of transportation and the good schools made Bloor West Village a popular neighbourhood for families. It is also well known for it’s more than 400 shops, restaurants and services along Bloor Street West.
The homes in Bloor West Village are mostly two storey brick houses with deep front porches. Since the majority were built between 1912 and 1923 they are fairly similar in style.
